First I started by taking a picture of myself so I had something to work
from and to give me a template to work from.
I then satrted by using the pen tool to create vetors. I created my face first
by going across the outline and used the bucket tool to fill it in with a
similar colour to my face and did the same to my kneck but with a darker shade.
The important factor when creating the vectors is to not create many, otherwise you will have what seems like a shape with a lot of points.
Next, I did the collar and jumper and had to bare in mind how rounded
the jumper is and to not make many points so it is more rounded and curved.
The next step I did was to do the ahir and the ears. The bun ontop of the
head was particularly hard to do as it is in a circular shape. I only used 4 vecotrs
to make it rounded. On the other hand, the hair is more pointed so I could
use more vectors
I then did the lips and eyebrows. The eyebrows were easier than the lips
as they were a more simple shape. On the other hand, the lips
were harder as they were a more difficult shape. I also had to add a shadow
in the centre of the lips to show the part in them.
One of the last and most difficult parts to do was the eyes as there
are alot of steps to do within them. First I did the outer rim in the top which
was a thin black line. I then added the white part. Then I added the pupil whihc
I used the shape tool for as it is a perfect circle.
The final step to do was the nose and the moles. For the nose I used a slightly darker
shade than the skin to show the shadows around the nose and to make it
look more natural. Finally I got rid of the background to show the different layers on their own.
For each vector I made, I used a different layer to avoid confusion.
It also stops them from being affected when editing and moving the other features.
